I originally wasn't going to go out before midnight on Thanksgiving day buuuuuuut while at my mother-in- law's house, I caught glimpse of the ads. I skimmed through the papers to stores I really didn't care to shop at just to see what they had on sale, then..TADA! Target (my favorite store in the world) I eagerly flipped through the pages and I'm actually suprised I didn't start screaming like the lady in the commercials. I immediately called my friend and asked if I could tag along with her and her boyfriend.
We got in line at 10:30pm and weren't too many people behind so at midnight when the doors opened, we knew exactly where we were going. It helped that I went shopping with two ex- target employees so they knew where everything was. I ended up getting everything I eyed in they're ads. My best deal by far was a Christmas gift I picked up for someone else that was 50% off! I walked out of the store paying only $120 and saving around $90. I would definitely say the craziness was worth it!
Our next stop, after dropping off all our finds, was Old Navy. Afterall they were having a Gobble-palooza as my friend said! haha. After snagging all the things we wanted, we headed to the check out line. Although we found some great deals there also, we heard some people saying they had been in line for about an hour and they weren't anywhere near the checkout counter. Both my friend and I agreed that these clothes steals weren't worth probably standing in line for double that time.
We called it a night. My friend had work this morning at 10 and her boyfriend had to be to work by 8 so I'm sure they wanted to get SOME sleep.
On my way home I remembered that in the Toys R Us ad they advertised if you bought a big box of diapers any size and any brand you got the matching brand wipes refill kit for free. So I thought, what would be the off chance at 2:30am when the store opened at 10pm Thanksgiving night, that they would have the size I needed for my little dinosaur? I know that store like the back of my hand (weird to admit since I didn't really shop there unless I needed a child's gift for a party before Nicolas) so I guess you could say I'd rather spend my money there on unnecessary items for him than get things for myself. Anyway, I figured since I know the layout I could just go in and check to see if they have the size iI need and if they don't then "Oh well." Walked in, headed straight to the diaper section and low and behold I got the LAST box of size 6 AND the LAST box of free wipes! I was absolutely beside myself. Imaging in my head that I was the greatest shopper in the world because I got everything I wanted to get without spending a fortune! I think I even had a little bit of a strut going on as I walked back to my car thinking to myself "Yes! Santa doesn't have anything on ME!"
I got home and woke my husband up to unload my things and told him about my adventure. Before kissing him and going to bed I thanked him for staying home while the baby slept and he asked me if I'll go next year, and without hesitation I said "DID YOU SEE EVERYTHING I GOT???? HECK YEA I'M GOING NEXT YEAR!"
This morning I may be a little tired but playing with my munchkin and making him laugh is masking my fatigue.
Black friday for me was a HUGE SUCCESS!
Awesome. I'm too afraid of being killed in a rampage to go out on black friday.
