It happened. My son fell. (what else is new?) haha Only this time he got a cut bad enough to get stitches luckily the gash was right in line with his eyebrow. At first, the cut didn't look that bad because I was even contemplating whether or not to take him in. But about 15 minutes later his eyebrow had swollen enough for the cut to spread open a little and I can imagine that if he didn't get stitches, the scar would heal bigger than it did. We took him to our nearest Urgent Care that I have nothing but great things to say about. The staff was fast, friendly and super efficient in the follow up care. Within 5 minutes of arriving, Nicolas and I were called back to a room where the Medical Assistant was already preping the dr's supplies. The physician came in just a little while later to evaluate himself and notified me what would be done. Already having gone to school and working currently in the medical field, I knew already what to expect and was as calm as could be. (unusual for a mom of a one year old probably) Once the dr was finished clearing his other patients, he and two Medical Assistants came in to get started. From there I won't go into much detail because, let's face it, it wasn't a pretty sight with my boy screaming bloody murder as I and the two assistants held him down. The dr was fast and was even serenading Nicolas to see if that would calm him down. We were out of there shortly after he finished and by this time it was an hour past Nicolas' regular bedtime so I knew after the eventful evening he would sleep soundly. I had to come to terms with the fact that I was having a silly, busy, rambunctious boy when the ultasound tech first notified us of his gender. I knew once he started walking, I was in for it. And this is JUST the beginning!

A little while after he fell. (It was already 6pm and I knew we'd be there past his bedtime so I fed him before we left, so please forgive his spagetti face.)
The next day, still a little swollen but still cute as ever!
That weeked we went to a birthday party and I thought he'd be Mr. coolkid with a Wolveine band aid..sure enough it was ripped off by the time we pulled up to the party. =(
Later the following week it didn't look bad at all..we couldn't have been happier for it to be directly along his eyebrow line.
Exactly a week later, I noticed that morning one of his stitches had unraveled so I pulled it out. When I picked him up from daycare, another gone. So when we got home I called the urgent care to see if bringing him in would be up to my disgression because I had no problem taking them out myself since his cut seemed to be healing perfectly.
I took this picture today after his snack time pudding and I am happy to say you cannot even tell there is a scar. Of course when he's older and has a girlfriend/wife I know she'll find it super attractive because when you look at him closely you can see the character it adds to his already handsome face.
Oh my goodness that would scare me! Poor baby. You have such a great attitude though! I wish I had the strength to maintain my composure during emergencies like that! I freak out just taking my cat to the vet!
