T.V. Time

During the week we have a routine we like to stick to and yes it does include a few t.v. shows to entertain my little one for a bit. I try to limit the amount of cartoons he watches but let's face it, when mom and dad are scurrying in the mornings to get ready for work, the t.v. does go on. Whether or not Nicolas stays glued to it is optional and more than likely NOT. It at least helps me get him somewhat entertained while we are rushed to get out the door. The only channel I allow is Nick Jr. because all the shows are either about learning new things, expanding your creativity, introducing music, dancing, and plenty of other toddler friendly lessons. (might I add they don't play commercials so once Nicolas can talk, I won't have to worry about him asking for me to buy the latest toy that was just advertised) His morning schedule of shows goes as follows...

"Jack's Big Music Show" -These adorable little puppets create and expand their musicality. They have the most adorable songs that get my tot to wiggle. (this show comes on at 6am so if it's on when I get Nicolas dressed I'm making excellent time that morning)

"Toot & Puddle" -Best friends who travel the world and explore new surroundings. They live in a cutie little town of "Pocket Hallow," these little piggy's make my little piggy smile. (This comes on at 6:30am so if I'm just now starting to get him dressed, I'm already thinking that I'll be late to work that morning)

"Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends" -This show is about a little spider, her hubby (which technically her prefix should be Mrs. lol) and their adopted insect babies. It teaches my little one how to...actually I've never sat down and watched it with him and by the time it comes on we're already zooming out the door. He also by this time is no longer interested in watching and is more interested in what I'm packing in his lunch for daycare. lol I have to say they are cute little critters though.

"YO GABBA GABBA" -By far Nicolas' favorite! He watches this before bedtime almost every night. It has become a part of his "wind down" routine because he literally will sit in my lap and not move a muscle or make a peep. You would think he is the most calm and collected boy ever. NOT! Only when his show is on. This show, I'd have to say is my favorite also. They make catchy jingles for literally everything. Not to bite your friends, to eat all your food, to put on your pajamas, how to brush your teeth, not to throw things at friends, to buckle your seat belt in the car, so on and so on. I'm actually thinking about getting a CD for us to listen in the car because let's face it, if you came across a little kid singing about not biting his friends, it would be the absolute cutest thing in the world! Just saying!
