I've been tagged in a game by Erica at Mi Todo. I'm so excited because it's my first game tag :)
There are five rules:
1. Post these rules.
2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things.
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you've tagged them.
this is a super old picture but I love it! I'm sitting on the plane in the exact seat that my grandpa sat in for years while he was in the Air Force.
My randoms:
1. I may be one of few people aside from advertisers who actually like and can appreciate commercials.
2. I use a hand mirror to do my mascara and I always hold my breath so I don't fog it up.
3. MmMmM PEPSI! I love it and could drink it all day everyday!
4. I always have to have a glass of water on my nightstand when I go to bed. Whether or not I drink it doesn't matter, IT NEEDS TO BE THERE!
5. I have this weird, gross, awful obsession with popping pimples.
6. I have the largest sweet tooth probably in the world. It's THAT crazy!
7. I totally get super giddy over kitchen goods. Cutting boards, pyrex pans, tupperwear, small appliances..say no more, I'm in love :)
8. I love greeting cards and have a box full of them that were given to either myself, my husband, or my son.
9. Before I eat ice cream, I put the container in the microwave for about 15 seconds to soften it.
10. I can't fall asleep unless I play rain sounds or any kind of white noise in the background.
11. I always look at people's nails, you can really tell a lot about a person by how they keep their nails.
Questions from Erica
1. If you could only listen to 5 songs for the rest of your life, which songs would they be?
Carried Away- George Straight (it's our wedding song and when Ryan sang it to me for the first time I cried like a baby)
Roxanne- The Police (I grew up hearing this song ALL THE TIME and it just puts a smile on my face even though it's about something totally inappropriate)
Lucky Star- Madonna (This song reminds me of Saturday mornings when I was little because my mom would blare the stereo while we cleaned the house)
Hotel California- The Eagles
Under the Bridge- Red Hot Chili Peppers
(Both of these songs remind me of Los Angeles and all the memories I have from our trips there. I couldn't imagine not ever hearing them again so they both were a MUST for this list)
2. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would one day love to travel to Spain just to see all the beautiful Cathedrals.
3. What is one of your favorite childhood memories?
I have a lot because most of them were spent with my grandparents.
4. If you were to get a new/your first tattoo, what would it be of?
My next tattoo will be of my grandpa's plain. It's something that he was so proud to have been a part of and would always tell me stories about his travels in the military.
5. Were you in any clubs in high school? Are you still interested in the same things?
I was involved in Leadership which helps organize all the school functions. I love to plan things like parties and events so I would say yes, I still am interested in that sort of thing.
6. What is your favorite smell?
I can think of five off the top of my head.
1. The way my grandpa's hat smelled
2. Tiger balm
3. My husband's body wash (Old Spice Game Day scent)
4. Suavetel laundry detergent (aka the Mexican brand)
5. Gasoline
7. Do you believe in ghosts? Why?
No I don't believe in ghosts but I do believe in signs. The day my grandpa passed away, that afternoon I was sitting in the kitchen talking with my grandma and we heard a loud sound that we thought would burst the windows. My cousin and her family pulled up to the house a few minutes later and told us that his plane (that is now used for the Coast Guard) just flew over the house. If that's not a sign, I don't know what is!
8. If you could change one thing about your body would you change anything? What would it be?
I don't think I would change anything. There are some things I don't like but I can change those on my own like my hips and thighs lol.
9. What fictional character (movie, t.v. show, or book) do you most relate to?
This question has me stumped, so I asked my sister (because she knows me best) and her two answers were Ariel from The Little Mermaid (she said) because I "hoard useless things" (RUDE!) and then also Belle from Beauty and the Beast (smile) because I love books. [I'm totally OK with those answers]
10. If you could meet any famous person from the past or present, who would it be?
I don't really idolize any famous person enough to want so badly to meet them. But if I had to narrow it down I would say any of the following: Desi Arnez, Lucille Ball, Audrey Hepburn, Gene Kelly, Clark Kent, or Patrick Swayze.
The non-famous person I would like to meet is my grandpa's mom (Grandma Lala). My family tells me stories about her and even my sister remembers her but she died when I was really little.
11. Why did you start blogging?
I love to write.

Wow, I loved reading every single one of your answers. It sounds like you had a very special bond with your grandfather and it really shines through in your answers. And I agree, what an amazing sign he gave you the day he passed away!!
ReplyDeletePS - I have a super crazy sweet tooth too! I swear sometimes my addiction to chocolate is so bad that I actually contemplate seeing someone about it haha! :)
Great post! Thanks for a lovely read.
