My little burrito

I ha planned to do a whole "how-to" post about swaddling. I did it with Nicolas and it helped him go to sleep longer through the night at an earlier age. So I became a firm believer that it is a wonderful tool to use for babies. I used the ones that had the Velcro as a sure way to keep him snuggled but when he would wake up I would find that he had made his way partially out of the contraption. Then I got a fabulous gift from an Aunt, a perfect sized swaddle blanket, with directions on how to do it perfectly.

Before I had Raegan I went to the craft store to get "girly" fabric in the size of Nicolas' blanket so she could have her very own. I hemmed the edges and bam I had my own blanket..nothing fancy but I was pretty proud of myself. The only problem, she hates it! Not to the point where she cries but when I would snuggle her up after being fed she would wake up the second I put her down. I realized she didn't like being so confined and actually slept better unwrapped.

That just goes to show you every baby is different. My son loved it but my daughter not so much. I did manage to get a picture of her all bundled up like a burrito.

(when swaddled she would wake up about two to three times at night but not being swaddled she wakes up only once) Silly little girl :)

  1. My daughter loved being swaddled and slept so much better in it. I also used the velcro ones, which worked well for her. I just assumed every baby loved being swaddled :) We'll see what our little guy prefers!

Raegan is so cute wrapped up like a burrito :)
