My babies are growing (way too fast!)

Raegan,
Sunday marked your 2nd month and I cannot believe it! You are growing so fast. You are awake more during the day. Actually your prime awake time is usually around 7 or 8 and then you go to bed around 11 or midnight. You have slept through the night a few times now but there are those occasional nights when you wake up around 3 or 4 to eat and then go right back to bed, then not wake again until 9 or so. You have started to smile and I make it a daily mission to make you smile a million times because you look just too darn cute! You love when I kiss each of your cheeks numerous times, you give a face like you want to laugh and it melts my heart every time. You coo at me in the cutest way like you are telling me somethig so important. You still have all your hair and I can tell its growing longer in the back. I can't wait to put clips and braids in your hair. Speaking of your hair though, you have gotten a little, tiny bit of cradle cap. So a few times now I've brushed your hair with baby oil to break it up. I give you a baths all the time. You love them. You still look so tiny in your pujtub. and afterward you smell so super scrumptious! Right now you are still breastfeeding and that is going well. I have however started to supplement formula about once a day so I can pump and build up my supply for when I go back to work. You can finally fit into your newborn size shoes (you have literally a million pairs) and you are still wearing all your newborn clothes which is a good and bad thing. Good because that means your still my tiny baby but bad because you have so many more clothes that I'm just so excited for you to finally fit in. I have however, bumped you up to size one diapers. Today you and your brother had a dr appt where I found out you currently weigh in at 11lbs and are 22 1/2 inches long. My big girl. You had to get 3 shots (I figured) but I was so surprised because you didn't cry at all! Even the medial assistant said you were the first baby she's ever given shots to that didn't cry. That's my girl! You may be little but I know you can hold your own. Little miss you have stolen our hearts and I don't think you intend to give them back anytime soon. You make me smile a ton everyday. I can't wait to see what this next month has in store for us.

love this little pouty lip!
All smiles

LOVE her shoes!
Bath time!
Didn't even cry!!

Nicolas

You also saw the dr today and you weighed in at a whopping 33lbs and are 35 inches tall. You too, are growing right before my very eyes. At this visit you weren't the least bit scared of the dr. In fact you even smiled and laughed while he was checking you over. You are my big boy and even the dr said I have two very healthy children. You, lucky duck, didn't have to get shots like your sister but you've always handled them very well just like she did.
Patiently waiting for the Dr.
My big boy! Stands taller than the table!
Looking so cool in his sunglasses!

I was just talking to your Auntie today about how time is not on our side now that we have kids. It seems like te days are shorter and before we know it we are celebrating another birthday. Please just pause for a second so I can take in these precious moments.

Love always,
Momma

  1. So cute! I love the pouty lip :) And that is so awesome that she didn't cry with the shots.

Nicolas looks so cute with his sunglasses on. Does he actually keep them on for awhile? I can't wait for the day that Kyla is no longer afraid of the doctor. She actually does ok with her regular doctor (a female), but she's been on maternity leave so she's had a male doctor a couple times and completely freaks out the second they walk in the door.

    1. He actually just started keeping them on and same thing with hats. He would take both off immediately but now that he sees daddy wear a hat and I wear sunglasses he probably thinks its cool :) he use to freak out too. Scream cry the whole time but so I have no idea what has changed his mind on the dr but I'm loving it. Although all morning yesterday I kept saying "let's go see the dr." and "do you want to go bye-bye to see the dr?" he loves to go places so maybe that helped.
