Lately Nicolas' new "thing" is to take a bunch of toys with him to bed. If in the morning I clean out his crib by naptime he loads it back up. By bedtime, it's like his little play room. I don't know if it helps him go to sleep by playing until he's tired or if it's comforting to have his favorite toys near him but whatever it is I find it so funny when I go in to check on him and there are toys surrounding him.
