Birthday Recap!

Over the weekend we celebrated Nicolas' 2nd birthday! It was a great day! The weather was great and the turn out was wonderful! It always makes me happy to have a gathering like this with all (most) of the people that love my children in one place celebrating them.

Nicolas started his birthday off by waking up at 4:30am! Yes I repeat 4:30AM!! He crawled into bed with me but instead of going back to sleep, he kept whispering "momma?" So back to his own bed he went! I hoped that he would fall back asleep knowing that we had a busy/long day ahead of us. Sure enough at 5:30am Raegan woke up and I could hear Nicolas playing in his bed. No luck for this mom sleeping in. So I brought Raegan in bed with me and we slept another hour or so. Around 7, I finally got Nicolas from his room and made him waffles for breakfast and he watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jake and the Neverland Pirates (His current favorites!) while the rest of us got ready.

By 9:30am we were off to the park. While I was busy setting the table cloths putting up my minimal decorations, Nicolas had the entire playground to himself. And boy does he love that!

By 11, we had the grill going and all the food set out. People started showing up and that made Nicolas so happy to see family and friends come to wish him Happy Birthday!

I am so happy he sat still long enough for me to get this picture!

After having a long day at the park, around 2:45pm we were loading the car up to head home and no sooner did I get Nicolas strapped into his car seat, he was out! Once we got home I put him in his bed and he slept until 5. Then of course all evening was spent opening his toys for him to play with. He got a bunch of  wonderful gifts from all of the amazing people in his life! I'm so grateful to have so many people love him that came to celebrate his birthday! We had a great day! And Nicolas, I'm sure, had a fantastic birthday!

My baby is officially 2!!!
