I realize it's been a while since I've written you a letter. Just to you and not to both you and your sister. So here I go, all for you. Right this second you are standing in front of me looking and pointing to the computer screen saying "wow look at that!" You are also yelling "Daddy! Where are you?!?!" He left for the store this morning and what's funny is that if he were here you would pay him no attention. I can't wait until you are a daddy's boy. I know you love him more than you know but right now you are still all about mom. Which I can't complain because I love you dearly but I know you daddy yearns for you to show him half the attention you show me.
Watching Toy Story |
Watching the Notre Dame game with Daddy! You too will become a big fan of them like your daddy! |
You are talking up a storm lately. You pretty much repeat everything we say. I'll call your daddy by his name (Ryan) and you will run around the house yelling it also. It's pretty funny but we correct you right away. You will not however, repeat my name (your daddy has tried to get you to say it but you just look at him and say momma instead). There are a few things that you say out of no where that just catch us by surprise. You will ask for "Pizza pie" quite often and it's funny because we don't have pizza often. One day you started asking for chocolate milk even though you have never had it before. You even have said to me "Momma, chocolate milk is goooood!" I don't know how you would know this but it took be yet again by surprise! We just the other day let you try some and guess what? YOU LOVED IT! (no surprise there) Parenting you during this stage has proven to be sometimes a challenge so bribing you with stickers, "cookies" which are really graham crackers, "candy" which is really fruit snacks, and now chocolate milk are some of our secret weapons to getting you to behave. You are still quite obsessed with any toy that has wheels. You are such a boy! I'm thinking a trip to the local fire station would be so fun for you!
Just to gloat how smart you are I can tell you that you know how to count I'm going to say from 6-19 consecutively. 1-5 however, seem to not be important to you right now. You know your colors and get so excited when you can name them all when we are out and about. You know your shapes and you even surprised your Uncle Mark (who is currently visiting us from Hawaii) when you spotted and oval shape at breakfast the other morning.
Right now you can sit through a whole movie and I even bought you some new ones for Christmas I thought you would be interested in (Brave, Horton hears and who, and The Lorax) but you are only interested in Cars and Toy Story. It's funny that at the early age of two you have your favorites and you are sticking to them!
This was taken the other day when we had mommy/ son movie afternoon. What did we watch? Cars! |
Your favorite cartoon is non other than Jake and the Neverland Pirates. If you see anything Jake you go crazy and want it.
You had this headband on for only a second after I snapped this picture. |
You are so funny. You act silly all the time. There will be times you come up to us and say "climb climb climb" meaning you want to climb all over us. You love to eat! You are not picky either! That I am so grateful for too. I can't think of anything that I've given you that you didn't care for. In fact a few weeks ago I made brussel sprouts with dinner and believe it or not that was the first thing gone from your plate. Yes of course you like the good stuff too. There are times when you see me eating ice cream and you run right up to me with your sweetest smile saying "please" or you outright ask for cake (even though we never have any unless there's been a birthday, which your daddy's birthday is coming up soon so you'll get some then.)
I am just overwhelmed with joy to be your mom and count my blessings everyday that you are a healthy, strong, smart, funny, silly little boy! You make us so happy! I don't ever want you to forget how much we love you! We love watching you play and just recapping these little traits of yours only gives a glimpse as to how amazing you really are. You have taught us so much more in these last two years than we could probably teach you in a lifetime. We love you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond, forever and ever!
Love,
Momma and Daddy!
